Storm Response

Storm Damage & Emergency Roof Documentation in Maryland

After a storm hits, the roof damage you can't see is often worse than what you can. We fly a same-day drone survey — aerial photos plus a radiometric thermal scan — so you have real documentation in hand before you call your insurance company or a roofing contractor. Available for both homeowners and commercial properties, day or night.

Why speed matters after a storm

Most property insurance policies expect you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage once a loss occurs, and adjusters move faster with clear, dated evidence of what the roof looked like right after the event. Waiting days for an inspection means weather keeps working on an already-damaged roof, and repair crews may alter the scene before it's ever documented. We offer true 24-hour availability specifically so that gap doesn't have to happen.

Post-Storm Emergency Response — 24–48 Hour Dispatch

For commercial property managers and public adjusters working against a claims deadline, we prioritize storm-damage dispatch within 24–48 hours of first contact. What you get back is dated, timestamped aerial and thermal documentation — the kind of evidence that keeps a depreciation holdback or claim payout from stalling for lack of proof.

What's Included in a Storm Damage Flight

  • Full nadir (straight-down) and oblique aerial photos of every slope of the roof, capturing missing shingles, torn membrane, damaged flashing, and debris impact in one pass
  • A radiometric thermal scan that identifies moisture already trapped under the surface — damage a visual photo alone can't show, and the kind that turns into a bigger claim if it's missed
  • A dated, timestamped report formatted for an insurance adjuster: exactly what your roof looked like immediately after the event, before anything is patched, tarped, or replaced
  • Delivered same-day in most cases, so you're not waiting a week for documentation while the damage sits exposed to more weather

Documentation, Not Repairs

To be direct about what this service is: we document damage, we don't repair it. What we hand you is the same evidence and defect map a licensed roofing contractor needs to write an accurate repair bid, and that an insurance adjuster needs to move your claim along — without the guesswork of a ground-level walk around the property. If you're searching for emergency roof repair, this is usually the fastest way to get the documentation that repair process depends on, whether you handle the repair yourself, through your own contractor, or through your insurer's preferred vendor.

Wondering why we don't offer a "free" inspection like some roofing contractors do? Here's why.

Residential & Commercial — Same Service, Every Property Type

The Maryland Drone Company's other services — CAD mapping, asset registers, ongoing maintenance surveys — are built for commercial and industrial facilities. Storm damage documentation is the one exception: available to homeowners and businesses alike, because storm damage doesn't check whether a roof is residential or commercial before it happens.

Homeowners — single-property storm documentation
Commercial & industrial — full facility storm surveys

Residential Flat-Rate Pricing

$299 Flat — 2D Orthomosaic + Thermal Moisture Scan

For single-family homes with up to 3,500 sq ft of roof area within Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties — our primary service area. One flat price, confirmed before we fly. What we find on the roof doesn't change what you pay.

Additional property damage in the same visit — fencing, siding, a detached structure, or anything else visible from the same flight — adds a flat $59.

Larger homes or properties outside our primary three-county area are still covered, just with a quick custom quote instead of the flat rate. Commercial and industrial facilities are priced by square footage — see our instant estimate calculator.

FAA Part 107 certified and $5M aviation liability insured. Every flight is logged and dated, and thermal moisture findings are reviewed by an ASNT/ITC Level I & II Certified Infrared Thermographer.
